Nike Air Force 1 ’01 “MTA MetroCard”

The Air Force 1 ’01 “MTA MetroCard” uses a shaggy College Grey suede upper and Pink Glaze details to turn a familiar New York shoe into a subway story. The pink outsole gives the otherwise muted pair its strongest contrast. SNS lists a MetroCard-inspired hangtag and hidden NYC branding behind the tongue. Nike names the colorway “College Grey and Pink Glaze”; the MetroCard name describes the theme, not a confirmed MTA collaboration. The tactile upper and transit details make this a more specific collector piece than a plain grey Air Force 1, while the silhouette remains easy to recognize.

Bit of a gimmick, but that is okay. The subway theme gives collectors something specific to talk about, though a memorable concept does not by itself establish lasting demand. Nike and SNS have both listed the pair, and actual pair counts or the full distribution are not confirmed. That leaves room for the first asks to reflect novelty more than a settled market. Buyers who want the design can watch how sellers respond after the launch rather than treating the opening price as the only chance. If access proves narrower than expected or demand holds after pairs arrive, the balance can change. For now, the story is interesting, but patience is still useful.

Nike SNKRS lists an October 7, 2026 launch and a $150 retail price for style IV6999-001. Nike + Tier 0 is Uncle Chrissy’s access classification; the full retailer map and final draw or first come procedures remain unconfirmed. Check launch timing and regional eligibility before making a plan. Uncle Chrissy’s Raffles & Drops can carry later access updates, and the live-price link can help compare a resale listing with Nike’s retail price.
